Cloie Creek Park Trail Project

Asbury Park and Rec Board is developing a new park on the north side of Asbury called Cloie Creek Park. It will be a unique park from any other in the Dubuque/Asbury area. The park is planned to have tri-state’s first splash pad–which is a water playground–and also ….DRUM ROLL PLEASE…..the first official mountain bike park!

Our group, Tri-state Mountain Bike Riders (TMBR) has been working with the park board to develop an estimated 2 mile long trail smack dab in the middle of Asbury.  The 2 1/2 mile trail has been professionally designed and is being built right now. Trail Source Company http://trailsource.net/ from Minnesota has designed sweet flowing trials incorporating rollers and berms that will be fun for all ages and skill levels.

Our community has donated over $50,000 to have the areas first mountain bike trail built. The amount of support has been overwhelming. There has been 3 volunteer days to clear for the trail with 15 to 20 workers each time. There has been 50 truck loads of dirt donated. Trail Source is going to continue to work as long as the weather permits. They have sculpted an optional pump/flow area on the south side of the trail near Asbury’s solar panels.  The area’s first mountain bike park should be open to the public within the next few weeks!!!
