DESCRIPTION:Take a Kid Mountain Biking (TKMBD)…It’s a festival of bikes!\nThis is a casual\, free of cost\, family-friendly biking event. Great for kids and adults of all ages! Riders can cycle through the course and get tips while they build their skills and confidence. \nSchedule of Events\n10:00am to 1:00pm\nTKMBD / Skills for Beginning MTB Riders\nBody position and bike/body separation\nBraking\, Front and Rear Wheel Lift\, Cornering\nBunny Hops\, Step Up and Down\nLed by local mountain bike coaches\, Traci and Lance Andre \n10:00am – 6:00pm\nSpecific times for all ride sessions below will be listed and available at the TMBR Welcome Tent!\nRide with a Local\n(various skills and routes available)\nBig Climbs\n(Heat Rise and Scrape Rock Wall)\nKid’s Free-ride & Beginner Jumps\n(Shakedown and Ride Control)\nJump Sessions\n(Hot Start and Stump Grub)\n6:30pm / Night Jump Sessions Begins!\n(Hot Start) Requires: Headlamps and/or Bike lights \n\nVersus food truck on site from 2:00-6:00pm\n\nSupporters of this event include:\nBicycle World\, Bike Shack\, Free Flight\, Urban Bicycle Food Mission and the\nDubuque Scholastic MTB Race Team \nBring your bike\, strider\, carrier\, unicycle… and your excitement!\n\nThis will be an outdoor gathering so bring your own hydration and appropriate gear. \nHelmets and close-toed shoes are required for all riders. Other protective gear like gloves\, glasses\, and knee pads are also recommended depending on riders skill. \nTrails at the base of the park are divided in two by a gravel path. The first half being almost completely flat\, perfect for toddlers with balance bikes. The second half is relatively mellow with small elevation changes and bumps\, great for first time youth mountain bikers with average pavement biking experience. \nJoin and Support Local Trails Today!\nWhile membership is not a requirement for participation\, we always invite people to join and become a supporter or volunteer in our trial advocacy community. \nOur members organize volunteer events\, maintain/develop public use trials\, apply for grants\, communicate with civic leaders\, and other less noticeable things like maintaining social media and website communication. Becoming a member not only supports local trails financially but also lets us count you among our supporters when dealing with elected officials as advocates for mountain biking.
